Constellation Men’s Ensemble is honored to serve as Artists in Residence with Music of the Baroque’s Strong Voices program in Chicago Public Schools. Each year, a quartet of CME’s professional singers visits CPS classrooms to perform and engage students in dialogue, weaving together music and conversation. These visits create meaningful exchanges where students experience live professional singing up close, while also learning about the many pathways music can take in one’s life. Ensemble members share their personal journeys as artists, sparking discussions about pursuing music as a career, maintaining passion for the arts, and finding ways to keep music alive beyond high school regardless of professional choices. Through these conversations and performances, CME empowers students to see music as a lifelong source of connection, joy, and self-expression. The program provides accessible role models who embody both artistry and openness, helping students understand that their own creativity has value and that music can remain a vital part of their lives. CME’s ongoing partnership with Strong Voices underscores its commitment to education, mentorship, and community engagement, ensuring that the next generation feels not only invited into the concert hall but also affirmed in their own capacity to make and value music.
Whenever possible, Constellation concerts are made available to high school students at no charge with promo code CPS and a valid high school ID. Only when venue restrictions make it impossible do we restrict our audiences by age and encourage our young msuicians to take advantage of our digital music library.
